Rescue

REMOVE yourself and others away from immediate danger.

DO NOT enter a smoke filled area as smoke is harmful.

Alert

Raise the alarm by calling RNA Security, pressing a manual call point (where available) and shout Fire! Fire! To nearby occupants.

Alert Fire Wardens and Security to the nature, location and status of fire.

Alert 000 – Fire Brigade to ensure they are responding.

Contain

Close all doors and windows if safe to do so.

Select the appropriate fire extinguisher, if trained and the situation is safe to proceed. Use PASS method to extinguish the fire.

Evacuate

Evacuate building in calm and orderly manner when evacuation alarm sounds, or you are instructed to do so by warden, security, or emergency services.

Assist all other building occupants to the safest emergency exit.

DO NOT USE LIFT OR ESCALATOR.

Proceed to nominated safe assembly area and wait for further instruction from Chief Warden or emergency services.

DO NOT re-enter building until given the ALL CLEAR.
