In the event of a gas leak or chemical spill, DO NOT activate building alarms, use mobile phones, handle held radios, electronic equipment, or any other source of ignition.

Isolate - The hazardous material by clearing the area, closing doors. If safe to do so, turn of machinery and any air handling in the area to prevent spread.
- Any persons that have come in contact with the hazardous material. Provide first aid and support if safe to do so.

- Seal drains using spill kits etc

Notify - If it is a gas or chemical, shout a warning and spread the alarm by word of mouth
- Send someone to ring security to report the details of incident including exact location and nature of emergency.

- Alert all contractors and occupants in area to prevent exposure
- Notify Workplace Health & Safety Qld of incident – dial 1300 362 128

- Close doors between you and the hazardous material
